History & Mission of Horsepower for Healing
Carla and Tauna, the founders of HorsePower for Healing, established this remarkable 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 20120 with a shared passion for horses and a strong belief in the transformative power of equine facilitated learning and activities. Their professional backgrounds have provided them with a deep understanding of the numerous benefits that come from working with horses, particularly when it comes to aiding individuals in their personal journeys of growth and healing.
With a commitment to making a positive impact in their community, Carla and Tauna have dedicated themselves to providing equine facilitated learning and activity groups. These programs are designed to empower individuals who are seeking personal growth, hope, and healing through their interactions with horses. The gentle and intuitive nature of horses allows participants to build meaningful connections with these majestic animals, fostering a sense of trust, self-awareness, and emotional resilience.
Education & Background in Counseling and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy:

As HorsePower for Healing continues to grow and gain recognition in the community, Carla and Tauna have recognized the importance of addressing mental health concerns as part of their holistic approach to well-being. To meet this need, they have thoughtfully expanded their services to include psychotherapy and counseling services, partnering with local Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Peer Support Specialists. This addition to their offerings enables individuals to explore and process their emotions, traumas, and challenges in a safe and supportive environment, leveraging the unique therapeutic bond that can be formed between humans and horses.
