Education & Background:

Mark Wesner earned his BA in Bible & Theology from William Jessup University in California. He also completed his Master of Arts degree in Family Studies at Michigan State University.

"I have served in the pastoral ministry over many years, during which time I have counseled single adults, engaged and married couples, parents, young people, and senior adults needing emotional and spiritual healing in their lives and families. God has wired me as a 'heart to heart' guy who loves to hear people’s stories and be used by Him to help them find guidance to navigate through their life challenges."

When it comes to marital counseling, I echo what the Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7:28, '...those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.'

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

Philosophy of Christian Counseling:

My desire is to be used by God to come alongside those who are hurting emotionally and/or spiritually to encourage and guide them toward our heavenly Father who can heal our wounds. I pray for my clients and seek to encourage them in finding the answers to the challenges they face. I believe the Bible is the best counselor’s manual which can be applied to our lives in practical ways.

Testimonials:

  • "Mark is a wonderful Christian counselor. We met with him for just under a year working around some major relationship issues as well as relationship guidance. He helped me in the most difficult time in my life! The sessions were very beneficial for me and my now fiancé and really helped us to see situations from a different perspective. He helped us gain confidence, assertiveness, trust, and appropriate boundaries in our relationship. He is very passionate about his work and is able to give lots of in-depth knowledge and references, which really helped us! We still plan on seeing him when we can just for some helpful “tune-ups”. I would highly recommend him to anyone! Five stars all the way!" -A.H.   ️ ️ ️ ️

  • "Mark was knowledgeable and caring as he assisted me in working through ending an engagement and the recovery process. Mark has worked with singles for years.  Mark was my premarital counselor and helped me realize that I should end the engagement. When I shared with Mark that I ended the engagement he said, “It is best to make that decision now than after you have walked down the aisle”. Thank you, Mark for helping me through this challenging time." – L.P.

  • "I would like to highly recommend Mark Wesner as a counselor.  He has many years as a pastor in addition to his counseling career and this is evident.  He has helped me a lot on my journey with tools and insights.  He is down to earth and easy to understand.  I recommend him for male and female clients alike.  I believe I am getting immediate and consistent help.  I appreciate how he shares wisdom and the relationship of that wisdom to God’s Word.  His guidance is easy to comprehend.  He is punctual, professional, and patient.  He has a wonderful personality.  He is the best counselor I have been advised by and I look forward to continued progress.  Humans are complex and problems may seem unsolvable, but Mark knows the way to solutions.  I am grateful that he is giving back to the community as a gifted healer."  – J.B.

  • "My family and I thank God that He used Mark Wesner as His instrument to guide us in the changes we had to do individually and as a couple. Mark’s genuine caring demeanor and heartfelt prayers have truly made a difference in our lives and in our family."  – M.L.
