Brenda Gonzalez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University.  She has over 10 years of experience providing counseling and psychotherapy services in both Charlotte and Sarasota Counties.  Ms. Gonzalez received a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Medical Technology from the Medical Sciences Campus at the University of Puerto Rico.  She also received her Masters of Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2003.  Since then Brenda has diligently worked in the medical field with patients suffering from chronic illness such as Parkinson´s and Cancer.  She organizes and facilitates monthly cancer support groups in both Charlotte and Sarasota Counties.  Brenda has been an active member of the Lymphoma/ Leukemia Society and Cancer support and Wellness Program since 2008. She uses an eclectic approach to treat patients, yet she focuses on Cognitive and Dialectical Therapy, Rapid Trauma Resolution, and also uses the Christian counseling approach to help provide strength, guidance and healing to her clients. 

Brenda worked extensively with trauma, PTSD, anxiety,

women´s issues (divorce, codependency), bipolar disorders,

panic attacks, depression, couples issues, grief issues, and

with the geriatric population. Mrs. Gonzalez is Certified as

a Rapid Trauma Resolution Therapist and also has obtained a

3rd level of training in Gottman's couples therapy.

"My goal as a counselor is to help individuals and families to

reach their potential and satisfaction in life and also learn ways

to cope with daily stressors and unexpected circumstances in life

through professional counseling and therapy skills.  I would like

the opportunity to help you work through the issues that are

causing pain. I believe that it is possible to find solutions to your 

problems and move on in life."
